SUEZ Energy International's main investments are situated in the following countries: in Oman, where it owns 32.81% of United Power Company (UPC) and 50% of Sohar Power Company, a combined cycle gas and water desalination plant. In 2006, SEI also acquired Al-Rusail and Barka 2, both owned for 47.5%.
In Abu Dhabi, where it has a 20% stake in the Al Taweelah A1 power and desalination project (GTTPC, Gulf Total Tractebel Power Company) and in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where it owns 45% of the Al Ezzel Power Company and 30% in the Al Hidd Independent Water and Power project. At the end of 2006, SUEZ Energy International made its first investment in Saudi Arabia in the world’s largest power and desalination project (Marafiq). SUEZ Energy International owns 20 % of this installation.
