SUEZ Energy International's residential users are based mainly in the catchment areas of Litoral Gas, Cálidda, and the company's distribution operators in Mexico. One of SEI's aims here is to promote the advantages of natural gas to its consumers and to look after its customers' interests in the free-market, regulated environment, ensuring tariffs are set at reasonable levels for the consumer, while bringing a reasonable return on investment for the supplier.

When at the end of 2001, Argentina was hit by a severe economic crisis, the government froze public services tariffs, a measure from which natural gas tariffs did not escape.
