January 2006
Brazil: Tractebel Energia has been chosen to take part in the “ISE”, a corporate sustainability index developed by the São Paulo Stock Exchange, Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Instituto Ethos, Brazil’s Ministry of Environment, and other capital markets entities. The index is composed by stocks, among the most liquid ones, of 28 companies that are widely recognized as committed to social responsibility and corporate sustainability.

Bahraïn: SUEZ Energy International, together with International Power (UK) and Sumitomo Corporation (Japan), signed a 20- year Power and Water Purchase Agreement (PWPA) with the Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) for the Al Hidd independent power and water project in Bahrain. The PWPA will cover the output from the existing 910 MW combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) and a 136,000m3/day water desalination facility, together with a new-build 272,000m3 desalination expansion, which is expected to be in operation by the end of 2007.

March 2006
LNG: SUEZ LNG Trading has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Brass LNG for the purchase of 2 million tons of LNG per year.

United States: SUEZ Energy Resources NA, the U.S. retail energy business of SUEZ Energy International, is now the fourth largest energy provider in the U.S., according to a KEMA report on electric retailer market share statistics on megawatts under contract. KEMA is a global organization specializing in technical consultancy, inspection, testing and certification associated with electrical power and other forms of energy.

Bahrain: The Al Ezzel power station in Bahrain began commercial operation.

Bahrain/Oman: SUEZ Energy International successfully starts up two projects in the Middle East. SEI succeeded in delivering early power for Sohar in Oman and Al Ezzel in Bahrain. The two projects, acquired mid 2004, were developed on a tight construction schedule, with works started after achieving financial close in November 2004 and a first operational phase ready by end of April 2006.

Chile: Suez Energy Andino completed the sale of 19% of Colbún. The first 9.5% were sold directly on 20 May to the Angelini Group. The second 9.5% were auctioned on 25 May on the Santiago Stock Exchange.

June 2006
Brazil: The biomass-fuelled cogeneration plant of Lages (State of Santa Catarina, Brazil) owned and operated by Tractebel Energia, was “registered” as a Clean Development Mechanism project by the CDM Executive Board. Lages (which generates 28 electric MW and 25 tons/hour of steam) will reduce Greenhouse Gas emissions by 220,000 tons of CO2eq per year under normal operating conditions, and hence be entitled, during 10 years, to 220,000 Certified Emission Reduction credits per year.

Brazil: SUEZ and Arcelor close deal to supply power in Brazil. Tractebel Energia signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Vega do Sul (Arcelor). From September 2007 to December 2013, Tractebel Energia will supply up to 23 MW to the Arcelor company, representing an approximate value of USD 44 million. Beginning of 2006, Tractebel Energia already finalized an agreement with Belgo-Mineira, another Arcelor subsidiary for 27.4 MW.
